Tracy Nealley is a Director of Nursing in the Central Florida area. Her professional career started many years as the switchboard operator of a local orthopaedic practice. She continued to grow with this company, eventually becoming the practice application specialist. Managing the medical software provided her with a wealth of knowledge about the integration of technology in a clinical practice. Critical thinking in combination with technical skills helped her maintain a stable application environment. Providing the practice staff with continued support and training made her yearn for a career in direct patient care.
This resurfaced Tracy’s childhood desire to become a nurse. She was accepted into the Seminole State College / University of Central Florida concurrent nursing program in the Spring of 2013. Nursing school provided an eye opening experience into the world of nursing. She found her calling!
Tracy has had tremendous growth during her nursing career. She quickly transitioned from a bedside nurse into nursing leadership and has enjoyed the journey. She looks forward to impacting the careers of other nurses as they start their careers.
The more Tracy learns the more she questions how science plays into a nurse’s life. This webpage will allow her to document her time as a student, a nurse, and a seeker of science based care. Ultimately allowing her to bridge the gap between nursing and science one post at a time.
